Makeup to cover vitiligo

Vitiligo is a disease characterized by the loss of the natural pigment of the skin (melanin), which leads to the appearance of white spots on different parts of the body, especially the face and hands.

These spots, especially at first, can be a cosmetic problem, especially since they appear around the mouth and eyes, and can feel self-conscious about our physical appearance. To avoid this, we can follow-up guidelines to help us cover them and make our face look smooth, fresh and natural.

Sunscreen

The first step in any makeup is applying foundation, and here too, but we must ensure that it has SPF 20 or greater, as our skin has lost this protection. This base also should be free of oil, water-proof and at the same time has a light texture so it can be easily extended to the face.

Then apply a full coverage makeup for depigmented areas. For this you can use your fingers or a sponge, and applying them to the skin around the spots. Initially, apply a thin layer, but if you see it necessary to wait a few minutes and apply a second.

Powder compact

The powder helps the makeup is more secure and therefore more durable, plus help you match the tone of your skin, so you should choose it as similar as possible to it. Apply a good amount using a pad, pressing lightly against the skin when you do. Leave spend five minutes to adhere the product and remove the excess with a brush.

The finishing touch

You can apply some blush on cheeks, the tip of the nose, forehead and chin in the middle, to give a more natural look to your face, and you just have to apply your makeup with shades of your choice.
